Poker is a popular game throughout the world. It combines principles of card games known hundreds of years ago in Europe and probably long before that in the Orient, but in its present form it is distinctly of American origin. There exist several Poker variations, but they don’t differ from each other greatly, the principle is the same. If you know the principles of the game well enough you can easily be a winner. Poker is a game of betting as to which player holds the best hand. In most cases, best hand contains the five highest-ranking cards, but what is considered the best hand can vary in some types of Poker. When playing High/Low poker there can be two players, who can win and then split the pot. The player who has the strongest hand and the player, who has the weakest hand are the winners. Players make their bets and put the chips in the center of the table, which is called a pot. You can compete for the pot only if you agree to meet the highest bet made by another player. Because of this rule, players are able to bluff and win the pot. The object of the game is to win the pot. There are two ways of winning the pot. After making all the bets there is a showdown. The winner is the player with the strongest hand. The player can make a very high bet, which will not be supported by other players. In this case other players have to fold and the player with the high bet is the winner without showing his cards. Poker is played with a 52-card deck. Each player receives one cards at a time. The cards are dealt clockwise. Aces are high, but aces rank low in the sequence A-2-3-4-5. Casino American Poker Deck. |
