While each poker player has their own unique playing and decision making style, there are basically only four main categories of players. All these types of players have their own techniques which can be very useful under certain circumstances. Each of these types has at least two basic attributes. If the player is tight (plays very few hands) or loose (plays a lot of hands): Whether the player is aggressive or passive. An aggressive player raises and bluffs a lot. A passive player prefers to call the bets of other players. Loose-Aggressive In fact it is the weakest category in online poker. These players are constantly raising before and after the flop. If playing in a real casino such a strategy works against poor players and allows a player to win only small pots. But in an online casino this strategy will bring nothing but losses. Loose-Aggressive players attract sharks. Sharks let such a player has his small pots, but then they are ready to break this player and win all his money. The only advice here is not to stick to one and the same table. It is better to change tables every 50 hands. Loose-Passive They are no more stronger than the first group. The players of this group will gain success if there are a lot of wild players at the table and everything is determined only by luck. Their strategy is to call the bets of other players no matter how strong their hands are. These players will lose very slowly, often being able to stay in against the other players, but unable to beat the house rake. Tight-Passive What allows players of this type to win is other players who play the game wrong. The biggest weakness of a Tight-Passive player is that they are so easy to figure out. You never have to worry about a bluff from them. If this type of player has a decent hand or a lot of outs, he or she will call your bet or make a small bet. They fold if they have a bad hand. Tight-Aggressive This is the best type among all others. They have the following principle of the game: see a flop with a decent hand and then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet.
